What it’s like to be a Claims Specialist

The Claims Specialist analyzes and adjudicates claims and exercises judgement in a great variety of situations on a frequent basis. They handle workers’ compensation, third party liability claims, and system damage claims, often working with general counsel, employees, and insurance companies to ensure claims are processed and taken care of.

What it’s like to be a General Counsel

The General Counsel position is responsible for managing multiple legal projects while working with and advising CEO/General Manager, senior management and the utility’s Board of Commissioners on matters of legal importance. They oversee the utility’s legal matters, provide legal counsel to management to ensure legal compliance and participate in the definition and development of utility policies, procedures, and programs.

General Counsel also acts as the utility’s representative to outside counsel to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with utility objectives. They draft, revise, and review contracts, reports, memorandum, and other legal documents.

Education: This positon requires a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
