What it’s like to be a Storekeeper

The warehouse storekeeper makes sure that all materials and supplies are available for the completion of overhead and underground electrical construction and maintenance projects.  They coordinate the type of material, the amount, and the distribution to the employees or contractors. Efficiency and a knowledge of all materials in the warehouse is important – especially during storm season when warehouse workers need to set out materials for line crews to use in order to restore power.

The storekeeper determines what materials can be reused or salvaged, and what needs to be sold, they work with departments across the utility to ensure each group has what they need to do their job successfully.
