What it’s like to be in Purchasing
Employees in the purchasing department at Clark Public Utilities are in charge of purchasing utility stock and non-stock items for a variety of departments across, processing transactions of purchase orders and expediting past due purchase orders. They are responsible for preparing and reporting cycle counting reports, assisting in reconciliation and adjustment process, ordering materials that meet utility standards.
These employees need to be organized and able to keep track of a variety of items and employee needs across the utility. They are also in charge of ordering items like toilet paper which may not seem as important as say, wire for power lines, but what a disaster it would be if we ran out!
Education: High school diploma, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree with study in business, accounting or supply chain management, and certification.
